I remember reading about the Wexner Center in the NYTimes long before I ever moved to Columbus. When I came here for grad school, it became one of my favorite places to be. A different kind of space. A surreal place. Once I learned the history of the building’s location and heard Eisenman speak about its design, I was forever engaged. A real building is one on which the mind can light and stay lit…

Absolutely, I appreciate you adding light of mind as a point of engagement and reflection. That notion of engaging the mind, this building, is spot on. I remember on campus as an undergrad I stumbled on this building and thought, “what is this interesting place?” I also remember that Eisenman talk years ago and walked away thinking what an opportunity in our community. And even years later after first discovery of this space and now opportunities to walk and work inside it’s crevices—just when I think I have a handle on this building, it is a wonder and a surprise again and again.
