Haze and Streetlight

Near the edge of the window
where the air seeps in, whistles
the cold, not yet bitter, through dark openings,
slivers and sips of morning air crowded
in the dust and corner, in the stream and slide
on wet glass, where the gathering warm
inside the sheer curtain keeps the cold temper
hidden in the haze and street light.

And in this moment, we can almost feel the frosty wisps of winter’s chilling winds lurking in the shadows.

You called it! Yes, winter is on its way isn’t it? We breeze through autumn but winter is lurking in the near distance. I like your words: wisps, lurking, and shadows–nice descriptive words.
