Ninety Degrees (or More) Towards Creativity

Arts experiences whether subtle or dynamic are vital components to any K-12 education. Not “special” or “extra”, as often referred to in conventional educational settings; arts experiences are core in all of its components and complexity.

For Education, implementation, integration, of the “creative”, requires a change of mindset, an undoing, unlearning of the teach less test more phenomenon. The time is now to turn at least ninety degrees towards creativity, and allow hands-on, hearts-on, thoughtful, dynamic learning in and through the curriculum just as core as any other subject or notion thought to round us intelligent and emotional human beings, capable of flexibility, empathy, adaptation, and resilience in a 21st century unknown.
