Poem (Animated): Those Winter Sundays by Robert Hayden

In this stay of summer I hesitate to speak of winter, or even mention the cold. But I ran across this animation by Allison Alexander Westbrook IV, of Those Winter Sundays, by Robert Hayden, and I could not resist sharing. I do not wish the bitter cold on any of you but Carl Hancock Rux’s voice is beautiful as he captures the pacing and tone of this classic poem.

I have a post on this same presentation of Hayden’s poem: http://milesaway44105.wordpress.com/2012/06/01/fathers-day-suite-quiet-acts-of-love/. I love that you call attention to the provocative animation and voicing of this work. I’ve been listening to audio books lately and the narration makes such a difference in my relationship to the work.

I love that. Yes, sound is such a different experience and really adds new layers, textures to artworks, especially literary art.

Thanks for sharing your post. I will check it out and I hope followers of my blog will too.
